The profit turnaround comes against a fall in sales, not a rise. Revenue from operations fell 2.5% YoY to ₹651.57 crore, while other income rose 66.7% to ₹3.37 crore. Other income is 0.5% of total income this quarter and 26.6% of profit before tax of ₹12.67 crore.

Finance costs fell 16.7% YoY to ₹13.16 crore, which is 2.0% of total income. Depreciation rose 5.2% to ₹15.72 crore. Tax expense of ₹2.63 crore is 20.7% of profit before tax, against a tax credit of ₹4.23 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The notes say sugar is a seasonal industry, with crushing normally between November and May while sales are spread through the year, so performance varies from quarter to quarter. Exceptional items are nil in the quarter and in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The auditors' review report states that nothing has come to their attention that causes them to believe the statement contains any material misstatement.

    Inference

The filing reports a six-month dividend payment of ₹20.02 crore on equity shares in both the six months to 30 Sep 2026 and the same period of 2025; the filing does not say whether it is a final or an interim dividend. Paid-up equity share capital is ₹20.02 crore at a face value of ₹10 per share.

The filing does not say why revenue from operations fell from ₹779.25 crore in the previous quarter to ₹651.57 crore, or why the company moved from a loss a year earlier to a profit, so the reasons for either change are not known from the statement.
