What Belrise gets and what Yamato provides

Under the agreement, Yamato grants Belrise a licence to manufacture and sell the products throughout India by using the Know-How, on the conditions and for the duration set out in the Agreement. The company says the rationale is to obtain a licence and technical assistance to manufacture and sell such automobile components in India.

Yamato will also support design, development, testing and manufacturing support for the products, for Indian automotive and industrial OEMs. The filing says the products include air filters, oil filters and resin air intake manifolds, and that Yamato has know-how for converting intake manifolds from metal to resin.

    Size of the two companies

Belrise describes itself as an automotive component maker for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, with a standalone turnover of approximately ₹7,500 crore. Yamato's turnover is approximately ₹100 crore, so the filing's figures put Yamato at about 1.3% of Belrise's turnover.

Blacklitt's data show Belrise's latest quarter, Q1 FY27 on a consolidated basis, with total income of ₹2,564.86 crore, up 11.9% year on year.

What the agreement means for Belrise's shareholders

The agreement adds a licence and technical support for filter and intake manifold products in India. The filing does not state the royalty and technical assistance fee, the duration of the Agreement, the date it was signed or takes effect, whether the licence is exclusive, or the expected financial impact on Belrise. Those points are not known from the filing.
