Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation (NSE: DEEPAKFERT) has incorporated Prayas Institute for Future Readiness as a wholly owned subsidiary, to undertake charitable and not-for-profit activities in education, vocational training, skill development and research, it said in a filing on 05 Nov 2026. The subsidiary was incorporated on 04 Nov 2026.

What Prayas is set up to do

Prayas Institute for Future Readiness was incorporated on 04 Nov 2026 as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, limited by guarantee. The filing says it is set up to establish, promote and operate institutes, training centres, skill development centres, vocational education centres, innovation hubs and research facilities.

Its stated programmes include education, farmer training, capacity building, employability enhancement and future readiness. It will also undertake research, applied research projects and industry-linked educational initiatives for the advancement of knowledge, technology and sustainable development.

Prayas has no share capital and its authorised share capital is not applicable. The company says it is yet to commence its business and has no turnover to report. DFPCL, as a member, has undertaken to contribute up to ₹10,00,000 if Prayas is wound up, as set out in its Memorandum of Association.

    Its place within the group

The filing lists no governmental or regulatory approvals as required for the incorporation.

What Prayas means for Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation's shareholders

The filing gives no share capital for Prayas, and the only quantified commitment is the guarantee of up to ₹10,00,000 on winding up. Against DFPCL's latest quarter, consolidated net profit of ₹490.04 crore for Q1 FY27, that commitment is small, though the filing does not link the two.

Not stated: how Prayas will be funded beyond the guarantee, when it will start operations, and which programmes or institutions it will set up first.
