The group's profit depends on other income. Revenue from operations fell 3.7% to ₹232.56 crore while other income rose 17.4% to ₹60.73 crore, which is 21% of total income (derived). Profit before tax of about ₹48.9 crore (derived from profit and tax) is lower than other income, so before other income the quarter was a loss of about ₹11.8 crore against a loss of about ₹5.7 crore a year ago (derived, before any share of associates). The filing does not say what the other income consists of.

Net profit still rose 4.5% to ₹36.77 crore, helped by lower depreciation (₹18.73 crore, down 19.4%) and finance costs of ₹0.30 crore. Tax was 23.5% of profit before tax. The notes record a preferential allotment of shares at a premium of ₹62.66 a share aggregating ₹20,450 million (₹2,045 crore); the text read does not say how that money is used, or whether it relates to the other income.

The standalone company shows the same pattern. Standalone revenue from operations fell 4.5% and 7.8% from June, other income was ₹61.61 crore against ₹50.55 crore, and net profit rose 22.9% to ₹28.42 crore. Consolidated profit is ₹8.4 crore higher (derived), so the subsidiaries together add profit.

The company states it is engaged only in the cable business and so has no separate reportable segment. For H1 FY27 consolidated revenue from operations is ₹475.33 crore against ₹482.70 crore (−1.5%) and total income ₹591.46 crore against ₹605.09 crore.

Inference

DEN's cable revenue is lower than a year ago and its profit rose because other income and depreciation moved in its favour.

The filing does not explain the other income, so how much of the profit repeats depends on an item the statement does not describe.
