Escorts Kubota tractor sales fall 10% in October 2026 as exports rise

Escorts Kubota (NSE: ESCORTS) sold 16,921 tractors in October 2026, down 10.0% from 18,798 a year earlier, and 640 construction machines, up 41.6%, it said in a filing on 01 Nov 2026. The company's domestic tractor sales were 16,412, against 18,423 a year ago.
Tractor and construction equipment volumes in October
Domestic tractor sales fell to 16,412 units from 18,423 a year earlier, a decline of 10.9%. Export tractor sales rose to 509 units from 375, a growth of 35.7%. The company attributes the industry moderation in October to the high base, a shift in festive timing and monsoon-related disruptions.
The Construction Equipment Business Division sold 640 machines in October 2026 against 452 in October 2025. The company says the construction equipment industry continued its growth momentum, supported by sustained infrastructure activity and healthy project execution.
Cumulative sales for April to October
For April to October 2026, total tractor sales were 87,800 units, up 5.5% from 83,256. Domestic tractors rose 6.2% to 84,497 units, while exports fell 9.7% to 3,303 units. Construction equipment sales for the seven months were 3,748 machines, up 41.3% from 2,653.
The company says input costs have risen because of geopolitical developments and that the resulting pricing actions may moderate demand in the near term. It says the construction growth trajectory is expected to remain positive, though the pace may moderate. The size of any price increase is not stated.
