Profit fell faster than insurance revenue. Insurance revenue rose 1.7% from a year earlier, to ₹2,720.49 crore, while net profit fell 31.1%, to ₹142.39 crore, and profit before tax fell 31.2%, to ₹190.18 crore. The combined operating ratio of 95.9% was 16.2 percentage points above the 79.7% of the year-earlier quarter. The filing gives the ratio but not the reason for the change.

Tax took 25.1% of profit before tax in the quarter. The company says tax effects of Ind AS-specific adjustments have been recognised as deferred tax, pending further clarity from ongoing industry-level representations with authorities. Net insurance margin was 8.8%, against 11.8% a year earlier and 20.7% in the June quarter, according to the company's analytical ratios.

Finance costs were ₹13.33 crore, against ₹13.38 crore a year earlier and ₹13.46 crore in the June quarter, a small line next to revenue. The company says quarterly results are not indicative of the full year's expected performance because of the seasonality of the insurance industry. The figures for the quarter are balancing figures between the June quarter and the year-to-date figures to 30 Sep 2026.

The board approved a scheme of amalgamation of Go Digit Infoworks Services Private Limited into the company on 19 Dec 2025. The Competition Commission of India approved it on 28 Jul 2026, and the NCLT order of 13 Aug 2026 allowed the first motion application and dispensed with creditor approval. An equity shareholders' meeting on the scheme was held on 5 Nov 2026, and the scheme remains subject to IRDAI and NCLT approvals. During the six months, 6,47,551 equity shares of ₹10 each were allotted on exercise of employee stock options.

    Inference

The filing gives total equity of ₹8,137.39 crore, total assets of ₹29,650.91 crore and borrowings of ₹350 crore as at 30 Sep 2026, along with a solvency ratio of 2.40 on the IGAAP basis the company cites.

A reader would want to know whether a dividend has been declared, the effective date of the amalgamation and the amount and timing of any tax effect pending industry representations; the filing does not say. It also gives no reason for the fall in profit before tax from the June quarter or for the higher combined operating ratio.
