Net profit grew more slowly than income. Total income rose 22.1% year on year and net profit rose 19.5%, with profit before tax up by the same 19.5% and tax at 22.8% of profit before tax in both years. Finance costs rose 17.1% YoY, from ₹109.63 crore to ₹128.34 crore, which is 28.5% of total income this quarter.
Other income is negligible. It was ₹0.08 crore against revenue from operations of ₹450.37 crore, so almost all of the income is interest and fee income from lending. Depreciation fell 9.4% YoY to ₹2.89 crore, a small line in the quarter.
The net profit margin was 32.33%, down from 33.02% a year earlier.
The filing gives no reason for the rise in finance costs or impairment charges. The statement shows impairment on financial instruments in the quarter, but the filing does not explain the movement.
Inference
The company says it held no subsidiary, associate or joint venture during the quarter, after the erstwhile subsidiary India Shelter Capital Finance Limited was voluntarily liquidated and its net proceeds were distributed to the company on 16 Mar 2026. Consolidated figures have therefore not been prepared for the period.
The company maintained 110% security cover on its secured listed non-convertible debentures as at 30 Sep 2026, and it raised ₹75.00 crore through a private placement of debentures on 30 Jul 2026, with the proceeds used for onward lending. The filing does not say what effect that issue will have on future interest costs, and it gives no reason for the rise in finance costs this quarter.
