Profit grew faster than income this quarter. Net profit rose 117.1% against a 39.4% rise in total income, and profit before tax rose 115.6%.
Finance costs of ₹5.44 crore are 0.7% of total income, but they rose 56.3% from ₹3.48 crore a year earlier. Depreciation rose 11.1% to ₹22.20 crore. Tax expense of ₹22.22 crore is 25.5% of profit before tax of ₹87.29 crore, up from ₹10.52 crore a year earlier.
The filing reports two operating segments. Pharmaceuticals contributed ₹68.05 crore of segment profit before tax and interest and Chemicals ₹23.18 crore. The notes do not give the reasons for the change in segment profits compared with the earlier quarters.
The consolidated results include the newly formed subsidiary, whose business operations began on 2 Apr 2026. The auditors' review did not cover one subsidiary, whose total assets were ₹10 lakh and net loss after tax was ₹4 lakh for the quarter, which the management says is not material to the group.

Standalone net profit of ₹65.03 crore is ₹0.04 crore below consolidated net profit. Standalone net profit rose 116.8% year on year, against 39.4% growth in total income, and profit before tax rose 115.3% to ₹87.25 crore.
Standalone depreciation of ₹22.19 crore rose 11.1% from ₹19.98 crore, and finance costs rose 56.3% from ₹3.48 crore. Standalone tax expense of ₹22.22 crore is 25.5% of profit before tax, against ₹10.52 crore a year earlier.
The notes give no reason for the growth in revenue or profit, and no reason for the higher tax expense or the tax rate applied.
The company is in the pharmaceuticals and chemicals business, with a market value of ₹5,215 crore at the 30 Oct 2026 close of ₹177.65 a share. Its previous quarter, Q1 FY27, showed consolidated total income of ₹764.44 crore and net profit of ₹64.40 crore, so this quarter's net profit is 1.0% higher.
The board approved the results on 30 Oct 2026, and the statutory auditors issued unmodified limited review reports on both sets of results. The notes say the previous period figures have been regrouped or restated where necessary. An exceptional item of ₹11.21 crore appears only in the year ended 31 Mar 2026 column, and the filing does not describe it.
Inference
The filing states that the auditors issued unmodified limited review reports and that the board approved the results on 30 Oct 2026. It reports a dividend nowhere, and it does not say whether one is planned.
The filing does not say why revenue and profit rose, what funding the new subsidiary will need beyond the capital infused, or what the exceptional item of ₹11.21 crore relates to.
