JSW Energy (NSE: JSWENERGY) said in a filing on 28 Oct 2026 that its board appointed Chandrasekaran Prabhakaran as an additional director and whole-time director, designated Director - Finance, with effect from 28 Oct 2026 for a term of five years. The appointment is subject to approval by the members of the company.

The appointment and his background

The board approved the appointment on the recommendation of its Compensation and Nomination & Remuneration Committee. Prabhakaran has been the company's Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel since 1 Jan 2026, and the board elevated him with effect from 28 Oct 2026.

The company says he is 51 years old, a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, with over 26 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting and governance. He has been associated with the JSW Group since November 2014.

He continues as a Key Managerial Personnel in his new role. He also remains one of the officers authorised to determine the materiality of events and make disclosures under Regulation 30(5) of the Listing Regulations.

What the appointment means for JSW Energy's shareholders
