Kaveri Seed Company (NSE: KSCL) reported consolidated total income of ₹249.06 crore and a net loss of ₹8.78 crore for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026, and standalone total income of ₹130.83 crore and net profit of ₹13.21 crore, it said in a filing on 28 Oct 2026.

Consolidated net profit rose 45.8% YoY, but the group still posted a loss of ₹8.78 crore against a loss of ₹16.20 crore a year earlier. Total income grew 10.8%, so the loss narrowed faster than income grew.

Revenue from operations rose 11.8% to ₹244.74 crore, while other income fell 16.9% to ₹4.92 crore. Other income is 2.0% of total income this quarter, so the result rests mainly on sales of seeds.

The quarter-end total income is far below the ₹746.23 crore reported for the previous quarter, which had a profit of ₹279.84 crore. The filing does not give a reason for the swing. The auditor drew attention to a going-concern material uncertainty for one subsidiary, which had accumulated losses of ₹5.33 crore and negative net worth of ₹4.91 crore at 30 Sep 2026.

Standalone net profit was ₹13.21 crore, against a loss of ₹15.05 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 29.8% to ₹125.44 crore, and other income fell 18.6% to ₹5.39 crore, which is 43.2% of profit before tax of ₹12.50 crore.

Depreciation fell 5.2% to ₹13.20 crore.

Standalone net profit fell 95.1% from the previous quarter, when total income was ₹819.29 crore.

Inference

The board declared an interim dividend of ₹5.00 per equity share, 250% of the ₹2 face value, for FY 2026-27, payable to shareholders on the record date of 6 Nov 2026 and on or before 26 Nov 2026, subject to statutory requirements.

The board appointed M. Bhanu Prakash as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel with effect from 28 Oct 2026. The filing does not give the reason for the appointment or the terms of his remuneration.

The board approved incorporating wholly owned subsidiaries in eight countries, with up to ₹50.00 lakh invested in each in a phased manner. The filing does not say how the proposed subsidiaries will be funded beyond that amount or when they will be incorporated.
