Other income was negative at ₹-15.57 crore this quarter, equal to 5.5% of total income, against ₹285.93 crore in Q1 FY27. Revenue from operations was ₹298.55 crore, 39.9% above a year earlier and 4.4% below Q1 FY27. The filing does not give a reason for the negative other income.

The consolidated figures include a ₹16.15 crore share of profit from Lonsen Kiri, a 40% joint venture, and a non-controlling interest of ₹6.01 lakh. Consolidated net profit attributable to owners of the company was a loss of ₹22.59 crore. The management notes say the group's share of profit from two associates and one joint venture was not reviewed by the auditors and was certified by management.

Standalone revenue from operations rose 48.1% year on year to ₹288.18 crore, while the standalone loss widened by 7.5% to ₹22.70 crore. The notes attribute the quarter's operating pressure to higher input costs for fuel, power and effluent treatment, and state that the standalone EBITDA was ₹6.86 crore.

Standalone other income was negative at ₹-9.50 crore, or -3.4% of total income. The company recorded a ₹56.85 crore unrealised, non-cash fair value loss on treasury investments under Ind AS 109, which the notes say is marked to market at the reporting date. Standalone finance costs were ₹0.76 crore, 0.3% of total income. Management expects improved realisations and profitability from dyes and dye intermediates in coming quarters, subject to the sustainability of market conditions.

    Inference

The filing states that the company's paid-up equity share capital rose to ₹65.17 crore from ₹60.02 crore at 31 Mar 2026, and that standalone proceeds from conversion of share warrants were ₹93.13 crore in the half year. The board also approved a preferential issue of convertible warrants, but the filing does not say whether the warrants have been allotted, at what price or for what size.

Consolidated non-current borrowings were ₹31.74 crore at 30 Sep 2026. The filing does not give the reason for the year-ago consolidated finance costs of ₹60.52 crore, the nature of the exceptional item of ₹5,881.23 crore shown for the year ended 31 Mar 2026, or the consideration paid for the Makilala Mining stake.
