Motherson Sumi Wiring India reported total income of ₹4,054.97 crore and net profit of ₹223.37 crore on a standalone basis for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026. The unaudited results were filed with the exchanges on 30 Oct 2026.

Total income rose 46.8% to ₹4,054.97 crore, and revenue from operations rose 46.8% to ₹4,053.83 crore. Other income was ₹1.14 crore against ₹0.81 crore a year earlier. Net profit rose 35.1% year on year, slower than total income.

Cost of materials consumed was ₹2,905.46 crore against ₹1,869.03 crore, and employee benefits expense was ₹625.87 crore against ₹480.12 crore. Profit before tax rose 35.4% to ₹299.33 crore. Tax expense was ₹75.96 crore, 25.4% of profit before tax, and included a deferred tax credit of ₹1.89 crore.

Finance costs rose to ₹14.52 crore from ₹6.37 crore, up 127.9%, while depreciation rose 14.6% to ₹60.87 crore.

Against the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026, total income rose 18.8% and net profit rose 53.7%, from ₹145.32 crore to ₹223.37 crore, so profit grew faster than income.

For the half year ended 30 Sep 2026, total income was ₹7,467.61 crore, up 42.0% from ₹5,257.56 crore, and profit for the period was ₹368.69 crore, up 19.5% from ₹308.44 crore. Half-year profit before tax of ₹494.71 crore was 20.5% higher than a year earlier. The results were approved by the Board on 30 Oct 2026 and carry an unmodified limited review report from S.R. Batliboi & Co LLP. The company has no subsidiary, associate or joint venture as at 30 Sep 2026, and the statement shows no exceptional items.

Inference

The filing shows ₹383.66 crore paid to equity shareholders as dividends in the half year, against ₹374.90 crore a year earlier.

Current borrowings were ₹101.44 crore at 30 Sep 2026 against ₹10.40 crore at 31 Mar 2026, and the cash flow statement shows ₹90.00 crore of net proceeds from short-term borrowings.
