Net profit grew much faster than income. Total income rose 29.7% year on year, while net profit rose 154.9%, from ₹34.79 crore to ₹88.66 crore. Profit before tax rose 153.9%, so the gap between profit and income growth sits above the tax line rather than in tax alone.
Tax was not a larger share of profit this quarter. Tax expense of ₹30.31 crore is 25.5% of profit before tax of ₹118.97 crore, against ₹12.07 crore on ₹46.85 crore a year earlier, a lower share than the year-earlier quarter's figure of 25.8%. The notes give current tax of ₹28.80 crore and deferred tax of ₹1.51 crore, with no earlier year tax. The filing does not say why deferred tax rose.
Other income is a small part of the result. Revenue from operations rose 29.6% year on year. Depreciation of ₹38.21 crore rose only 2.5%, and finance costs of ₹19.93 crore are 2.0% of total income.
The filing reports nil exceptional items for the quarter and a single operating segment, Textiles. The company has no subsidiary, associate or joint venture as on 30 Sep 2026.
Inference
The filing states that the board approved the results on 31 Oct 2026 and that the statutory auditor Kalani & Co LLP issued a limited review report with no material misstatement noted. The company paid a dividend of ₹16.87 crore in the half year ended 30 Sep 2026.
Non-current borrowings rose to ₹1,183.31 crore from ₹545.21 crore, and the half year saw ₹705.50 crore of long term borrowing proceeds. The filing does not say why borrowing rose, or what the capital work-in-progress of ₹915.16 crore is for and when it will be completed.
