Route Mobile (NSE: ROUTE) reported consolidated total income of ₹1,191.88 crore and net profit of ₹82.55 crore for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026, against a net loss of ₹18.83 crore a year earlier, it said in a filing on 27 Oct 2026. Standalone total income was ₹274.20 crore and net profit ₹33.13 crore.

Consolidated net profit moved from a loss of ₹18.83 crore a year ago to a profit of ₹82.55 crore, but the year-ago quarter carried an exceptional item of ₹135.87 crore, which the filing shows against profit before tax of ₹2.00 crore. Profit before tax this quarter was ₹100.93 crore, with no exceptional item.

Total income rose 4.0% YoY while revenue from operations rose 5.4%, and other income fell from ₹27.16 crore to ₹12.21 crore. Other income is now 1.0% of total income. Finance costs of ₹2.46 crore are 0.2% of total income, and tax expense of ₹18.38 crore is 18.2% of profit before tax.

Net profit rose 20.4% QoQ, faster than total income at 2.5%. The net profit margin was 6.93% against 5.90% in the previous quarter. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was ₹79.57 crore, against ₹82.55 crore for the period before minority interests.

Standalone net profit of ₹33.13 crore was almost unchanged from ₹32.92 crore a year ago, while total income rose 28.8%. Revenue from operations rose 42.2% YoY, and other income fell 45.3% to ₹17.87 crore, which is 40.1% of profit before tax of ₹44.56 crore.

Tax expense of ₹11.43 crore is 25.7% of standalone profit before tax. Net profit rose 105.0% QoQ, from ₹16.16 crore, as profit before tax rose from ₹20.25 crore. The net profit margin was 12.08%, down from 15.46% a year earlier.

Standalone net profit is ₹49.42 crore below the consolidated figure of ₹82.55 crore, and standalone total income is ₹917.68 crore below consolidated total income.

Inference

The Board recommended a second interim dividend of ₹4 per equity share, 40% of the ₹10 face value, with a record date of 02 Nov 2026 and payment within 30 days of declaration. Tax will be deducted at source, and the company has asked shareholders to submit documents by 02 Nov 2026. The total rupee payout is not stated.

The Board also approved altering the Memorandum of Association to add objects relating to AI, GenAI, ML, digital identity, cloud and CPaaS, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. The filing does not say when shareholder approval is expected.

The filing does not explain the reason for the year-ago exceptional item beyond the write-offs noted for the prior year, or the reason for the change in other income between periods.
