Operating revenue fell while other income rose. Consolidated revenue from operations was ₹907.31 crore, down 2.4% from ₹929.82 crore a year earlier and 14.7% below the June quarter. Other income rose 12.3% to ₹43.59 crore, which is 20.7% of profit before tax of ₹210.17 crore.
Profit before tax fell 11.6% to ₹210.17 crore. Tax expense of ₹52.76 crore is 25.1% of that profit, against 25.3% a year earlier, so the effective rate was close to the year-ago level.
The June quarter is the high base for the sequential comparison. The statement shows an exceptional item of ₹26.90 crore in the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026, an insurance claim for business interruption from the Bhavnagar plant fire in FY 2022-23, and none in the quarter under review. Against that quarter, profit before tax fell 27.1%.
Finance costs were ₹1.92 crore and depreciation ₹17.27 crore, both small beside the operating line. Depreciation rose 3.1% YoY, while finance costs fell 13.9%.

Glyphosate is the notes' main open matter. A Central Government notification of October 2022 requires glyphosate to be used only through Pest Control Operators, and industry petitions challenging it are before the Delhi High Court. The Government's counsel has told the court the notification will not be implemented until the petitions are disposed of, and the petitions are still being heard.
The business is seasonal and depends on monsoon and other climatic conditions, and the company has one reportable segment, agro-chemicals. Dividend paid in the half year to 30 Sep 2026 was ₹64.78 crore. Related party transactions in the period totalled ₹459.97 crore, including sales and purchases with the holding company Sumitomo Chemical Company Limited.
Inference
Paid-up equity share capital is ₹499.15 crore at a face value of ₹10 per share, and consolidated total assets were ₹4,979.50 crore at 30 Sep 2026, against ₹4,474.19 crore at 31 Mar 2026.
The filing does not say whether a dividend has been declared for the quarter or its amount per share, and it gives no date for the outcome of the glyphosate petitions.
