Net profit fell faster than income. Total income rose 3.0% to ₹208.59 crore, but net profit fell 42.0% to ₹29.25 crore, and profit before tax fell 44.7% to ₹37.78 crore. The gap sits below revenue: revenue from operations grew 3.2%, while other income fell 15.9% to ₹2.29 crore.

Tax took a smaller share of profit this quarter. Tax expense of ₹8.53 crore is 22.6% of profit before tax of ₹37.78 crore, against ₹17.89 crore on ₹68.32 crore a year earlier, a rate of 26.2%. Other income of ₹2.29 crore is 6.1% of profit before tax, so the quarter's profit rests almost entirely on operations.

Depreciation rose 42.5% to ₹9.46 crore, and finance costs of ₹0.46 crore are only 0.2% of total income, so borrowing is not a material drag on the quarter. The company reports no borrowings on its balance sheet at 30 Sep 2026. The statement shows no exceptional item for the quarter, while the year ended 31 Mar 2026 shows one of ₹0.46 crore.

Against the June quarter, net profit rose 21.7% while profit before tax fell 7.4%. The notes say material intended for export in the first quarter of FY 2026-27 was detained by Customs in transit and was exported on 02 Oct 2026 after clearance. The notes do not say what effect the detention had on the quarter's results.

    Inference

The company says it has no subsidiary, associate or joint venture as on 30 Sep 2026. The board approved the results on 06 Nov 2026, and the auditor's limited review found nothing to indicate a material misstatement.

Dividend paid in the half year was ₹8.05 crore. The filing does not say whether any dividend has been declared for FY 2026-27. The reason for the fall in net profit from the year-earlier quarter, and the reason for the rise in other expenditure and employee costs, are not stated in the filing.
