The quarter shows a loss while income grew. Total income rose 17.9% year on year, but the company moved from a loss of ₹8.87 crore in the year-earlier quarter to a loss of ₹16.34 crore, a 84.2% larger loss, and the loss before tax widened from ₹13.61 crore to ₹20.70 crore.
Depreciation of ₹88.75 crore rose 24.8% and finance costs of ₹20.69 crore rose 18.6%, so these two lines grew faster than income. Finance costs are 2.2% of total income this quarter. Other income of ₹2.68 crore is 0.3% of total income, and its share of the business is small.
Against the preceding quarter, total income fell 12.4% and the company moved from a net profit of ₹47.21 crore to a net loss. The filing does not give a reason for this change.
The notes say the Labour Codes impact of ₹1.19 crore was shown as an exceptional loss in the year ended 31 Mar 2026, and that prior periods have been reclassified, regrouped or restated where necessary. The statutory auditor S.R. Batliboi & Co. LLP issued a limited review report that reports no material misstatement.
Inference
The company approved a final dividend of ₹1 per equity share for FY2025-26 at its AGM on 30 Jul 2026, and paid ₹7.95 crore. Employee stock option exercises allotted 27,388 shares in the quarter and 89,713 shares in the prior quarter. The Board also approved reclassifying two promoter group members, Raghav Agarwal and Ditya Agarwal, who each hold no shares, to the Public category, subject to stock exchange approval. The filing does not say whether those approvals have been received, and it does not give a reason for the quarter's loss.
