Standalone net profit rose 35.0% year-on-year to ₹1,237.23 crore, faster than total income, which rose 22.5% to ₹5,541.46 crore. Against the June quarter, net profit rose 38.5% and total income rose 10.8%. In a filing on 30 Oct 2026, the company said its board approved the standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended 30 Sep 2026 at a meeting held that day.

Profit before tax rose 35.3% to ₹1,660.04 crore, and tax expense rose 36.1% to ₹422.81 crore. The net profit margin was 22.33%, against 20.25% in the year-earlier quarter and 17.86% in the June quarter.

Revenue from operations rose 21.9% to ₹5,493.40 crore, while other income rose 185.2% to ₹48.06 crore. Other income was 0.9% of total income and 2.9% of profit before tax. Interest income within revenue from operations was ₹4,883.86 crore, and fees and commission income was ₹240.25 crore.

Finance costs rose 23.9% to ₹2,736.24 crore and were 49.4% of total income for the quarter. Employee benefits expense was ₹383.90 crore, and depreciation was ₹40.85 crore, up 10.5% year-on-year. Basic EPS was ₹4.52 against ₹3.51 a year earlier, up 28.8%; the statement prints EPS as not annualised.

Inference

The filing also reports capital activity. The company raised ₹4,000 crore through a preferential issue on 23 Jun 2026, and the statement reports no deviation or variation in use of the proceeds for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026. Of the ₹3,500 crore objective, ₹1,042.17 crore went to lending and ₹2,457.83 crore to repayment of loans; ₹500 crore went to investment in subsidiaries or joint ventures. Equity share capital stood at ₹2,737.80 crore as at 30 Sep 2026.

On 30 Oct 2026 the company also granted stock options and performance stock units under its 2022 scheme, with grant prices printed as ₹358.35 and ₹10 per share. The press release gives total lending AUM (NBFC and HFC) of ₹2,33,930 crore, up 32% year-on-year, and consolidated profit after tax of ₹1,288 crore, up 38%. Standalone loans were ₹1,65,729.17 crore as at 30 Sep 2026, against ₹1,50,635.11 crore at 31 Mar 2026.

The filing does not give a reason for the rise in finance costs or for the change in the tax rate.
