Afcons Infrastructure Limited has told the exchanges on 9 Oct 2026 that it received an order, on 8 Oct 2026, from the Assistant Commissioner, CGST, Division-VII, Ahmedabad North. The order confirms a demand of tax, interest and penalty under section 74(1) of the CGST Act, 2017, following a show cause notice for the financial year 2020-21.
The demand proposed in the show cause notice aggregates ₹1,18,38,402, made up of tax of ₹59,19,201, interest under section 50(3) that was yet to be quantified, and a penalty. The company filed the details in the annexure required by the SEBI master circular.
Inference
The tax and penalty are each about half of the total, and interest is added on top. The demand is small, and the part of the filing reviewed here does not say whether the company will appeal.
