Standalone net profit rose 28.7% YoY, in line with total income, but more slowly than profit before tax, which rose 34.0%. Other income of ₹108.80 crore is 11.8% of total income and 68.2% of profit before tax. Of that, ₹98.00 crore is dividend income from Deepak Phenolics Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, for the quarter and six months ended 30 Sep 2026.
Standalone tax expense of ₹15.80 crore is 9.9% of profit before tax of ₹159.53 crore, against 7.44 crore a year earlier. The filing gives no explanation for the low tax charge. Standalone finance costs were ₹1.87 crore, and the filing gives no segment disclosure at standalone level.
The Labour Codes provision was booked as an exceptional item for the year ended 31 Mar 2026: ₹10.51 crore standalone and ₹12.84 crore consolidated. The notes do not say what its effect will be in later periods.
Consolidated segment revenue for the quarter was Advanced Intermediates ₹810.82 crore and Phenolics ₹2,291.09 crore, less inter-segment revenue of ₹25.54 crore. Consolidated total segment assets were ₹9,813.51 crore and segment liabilities ₹3,292.42 crore at 30 Sep 2026.
Inference
The filing says the Board approved the results on 29 Oct 2026, after an Audit Committee review on 28 Oct 2026. Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued limited review reports on both sets of results, based partly on other auditors' reports for the consolidated figures.
Dividend paid on equity shares was ₹102.29 crore in the six months ended 30 Sep 2026. Paid-up equity share capital is ₹27.28 crore at ₹2 face value. The filing does not say how the company plans to use its cash or what the subsidiaries' profits will mean for future dividends.
