The group earns about ₹178 crore more than the bank alone (derived). Consolidated net profit is ₹1,564.06 crore against ₹1,386.09 crore standalone, a gap of about 13%, which comes from subsidiaries and associates; the filing's headline figures do not split it by entity. The gap was about ₹64 crore a year ago (derived), so the non-bank part of the group has grown faster than the bank.
Other income is the faster-growing line. It rose 37.6% to ₹1,520.57 crore against a 16.2% rise in the core line, and it was 40.6% above the June quarter, so about 15% of total income is now non-core, against about 13% a year ago (derived). The filing's results statement gives the amount but not the mix of fees, treasury gains and recoveries.

Profit grew faster than income because operating profit grew faster than both. Operating profit before provisions rose 35.3% to ₹2,225.37 crore from ₹1,644.17 crore while total income rose 17.7%, and provisions and contingencies fell to ₹342.19 crore from ₹363.09 crore. Provisions took about 15% of operating profit against about 22% a year ago (derived), so a fall in provisions did part of the work.
Asset quality improved on both comparisons. Gross NPAs were 1.32% of gross advances against 1.83% a year earlier and 1.52% at the end of June, and net NPAs were 0.17% against 0.48%. Net NPAs of 0.17% against gross 1.32% means provisions cover most of the stressed book. The capital adequacy ratio under Basel III was 16.84% against 15.71%; the filing's scanned pages are only partly legible, so the capital and NPA ratios are taken from the bank's own results summary.
For H1 FY27 net profit is ₹2,563.02 crore against ₹1,817.01 crore, up 41.1%, and tax is taken at about 26% of profit before tax in both periods, so the growth is not from a lower tax charge. The bank reports its segments as treasury, corporate and wholesale banking, retail banking and other banking operations, all in India.
Inference
Federal Bank's profit growth of 45% on income growth of 18% rests on an operating profit rise and lower provisions, not on tax, and the loan book quality measures are better than a year ago and a quarter ago.
The filing does not break the operating profit rise into interest margin, fees and treasury gains, so how much of it repeats cannot be read from the results statement.
