CARE Ratings reaffirms Federal Bank’s AA+/Stable rating on its issuer rating and bonds

- Banking
The Federal Bank Limited has told the exchanges that CARE Ratings Limited has reaffirmed its issuer rating and the ratings on its Tier-II bonds and infrastructure bonds, all at CARE AA+; Stable. The bank made the disclosure on 10 Oct 2026 under Regulation 30 of the SEBI listing rules.
The rated instruments are the issuer rating, infrastructure bonds of ₹1,500 crore, and Tier-II bonds of ₹200 crore, ₹500 crore and ₹1,000 crore. The bank says it has put the agency’s rating rationale on its website.
Inference
All the ratings and the stable outlook are unchanged. The rated bonds add up to ₹3,200 crore. A Tier-II bond is a type of subordinated debt that counts as part of a bank’s capital and ranks below deposits, which is why it is rated separately.
The filing does not give the agency’s reasoning, which is in the rationale published by CARE.
