Profit before exceptional items was ₹27 lakh for the quarter. The reported net profit of ₹262.91 crore comes after an exceptional item line of ₹262.64 crore, which the statement places between profit before exceptional items and profit before tax. The statement's net profit equals its profit before tax.
Total income of ₹335.14 crore was made up of revenue from operations of ₹332.51 crore and other income of ₹2.63 crore. A year earlier, revenue from operations was ₹356.49 crore and other income was ₹18.76 crore. Finance costs of ₹27.48 crore are 8.1% of total income this quarter, against ₹265.34 crore in the year-earlier quarter. The statement does not give a reason for the fall in either line.
Note 3 says that under a One Time Settlement sanction from one secured lender, the company made all payments and settled all dues and disputes with that lender during the quarter. Withdrawal or dismissal of proceedings before the Debt Recovery Tribunal is in progress. The company continues to pursue One Time Settlement with the remaining rupee term lenders under a framework approved by all lenders in the Joint Lender Forum. Management is of the view that adequate provisions for interest have already been made, so accrual of further interest on such borrowings has been discontinued.
The auditor CVK and Associates reports a material uncertainty related to going concern. It says the assumption is critically dependent on the company's ability to generate sufficient cash flows in future to meet its obligations. The conclusion is not modified for this matter, and the auditor also draws attention to the non-accrual of interest on rupee term loans as an emphasis of matter, again without modifying the conclusion.
Inference
The filing reports that the company settled all dues with one secured lender and continues to pursue settlements with the remaining rupee term lenders. Total equity is negative ₹4,882.68 crore at 30 Sep 2026, against negative ₹5,215.03 crore at 31 Mar 2026. Non-current borrowings are ₹4,391.61 crore and current borrowings ₹761.26 crore. Note 2 records that 2,99,637 equity shares were issued on the conversion of series B2 FCCB bonds during the quarter.
The filing does not say what the terms of the settlements with the remaining rupee term lenders are, when they will be completed, or what amount was paid to settle with the lender named in Note 3.
