Hero MotoCorp Limited has filed a press release with the exchanges announcing the launch of the all-new Xtreme 160R 4V and a refreshed Xtreme 250R, dated 16 Oct 2026. The company says the two launches accelerate its push into premium motorcycles.

The Xtreme 160R 4V is a complete redesign. It has a 163cc, 4-valve, oil-cooled engine that makes 17.1 PS of peak power at 8,750 rpm and 14.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Hero says it is the fastest motorcycle in its segment, accelerating from 0 to 60 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Its features include ride-by-wire throttle with three ride modes, cruise control and a Panic Brake Alert, which Hero calls segment-firsts, plus dual-channel ABS and a new TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity.

The refreshed Xtreme 250R uses a 250cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve DOHC engine that makes 30 PS at 9,250 rpm and 25.3 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The release lists ride-by-wire, four ride modes, traction control, a quickshifter, cruise control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a frequency selective damping suspension, along with cosmetic changes such as gold anodised front forks and carbon-fibre hydro-dipped panels.

Anuj Dua, Chief Business Officer for the Premium Segment, said premiumisation remains one of the biggest growth opportunities for the company. He added that the launches are backed by the Hero Premia network of more than 130 stores. The performance and segment claims in this article are the company’s own.

    Inference

The announcement is a product launch, and the filing gives no figures on expected sales, pricing or revenue. For shareholders, it shows where the company is putting effort, in premium motorcycles, which the company calls one of its biggest growth opportunities.

The performance and segment claims in the release are the company’s own and are not independently verified in the filing. How the new models are received in the market, and what they add to the company’s results, will only be known from later sales and quarterly figures.
