Income fell sharply from a year earlier while profit rose. Consolidated total income of ₹129.40 crore compares with ₹317.41 crore in Q2 FY26, and revenue from operations fell from ₹325.31 crore to ₹151.78 crore. Other income rose to ₹5.20 crore, 4.0% of total income. Net profit of ₹18.86 crore compares with ₹2.83 crore a year earlier, and profit before tax of ₹19.20 crore compares with ₹3.97 crore, so the tax charge of ₹0.34 crore is small relative to pre-tax profit at 1.8%.

The notes also record a provisional exceptional gain of ₹32.52 crore in the quarter ended 30 Jun 2025. Depreciation fell to ₹13.38 crore from ₹16.94 crore.

Compared with the prior quarter, total income eased 3.7% while net profit rose 202.5%, to ₹18.86 crore from ₹6.24 crore. The statement does not split profit attributable to owners from profit for the period, and the filing does not give the reason for the fall in revenue from operations.

Total income of ₹128.52 crore is ₹0.88 crore below the consolidated figure. Standalone other income of ₹8.67 crore is 22.8% of profit before tax.

Net profit rose 99.9% from ₹19.04 crore a year earlier, in line with profit before tax, while total income fell 59.6%. Depreciation fell 44.7% to ₹3.36 crore. Net profit rose 203.5% from ₹12.54 crore in the prior quarter, faster than total income's 1.2% rise.

The standalone results include an exceptional item of ₹32.52 crore in the quarter ended 30 Jun 2025, described in note 5 as a provisional fair value gain on remeasurement of the previously held participating interest in Block B-80.

The company gives its business as a single segment: acquisition, exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in India, onshore and offshore. The notes say the HPCL crude inventory is still partly held at HPCL's premises, that the company is selling it through identified buyers, and that conciliation is continuing. The company states that no adjustment or provision is considered necessary, based on management's assessment.

The statutory auditors issued an unmodified limited review report on both sets of results. Paid-up equity share capital is ₹132.26 crore at a face value of ₹10 per share.

    Inference

The filing reports the board approved both sets of results on 06 Nov 2026, with an unmodified limited review report from the statutory auditors. It does not say whether any dividend has been declared.

The filing does not state the amount or timing of the sale of the HPCL-held inventory or the outcome of the conciliation, and these are the main open items for the year-earlier comparison.
