IIFL Capital Services Limited has told the exchanges that it has received an adjudication order dated 13 Oct 2026 from the Securities and Exchange Board of India, imposing a penalty of ₹2,00,000 under Section 15HB of the SEBI Act, 1992. The company received the order the same day and made the disclosure on 14 Oct 2026.

The order follows an inspection of the company’s online bond platform provider operations for the period from 26 Jul 2024 to 31 Mar 2025. SEBI observed that the company had not ensured that certain orders in listed debt securities were routed through the request-for-quote platform of a recognised stock exchange, and had not signed agreements with certain third-party sellers as required under the SEBI framework for such platforms.

The company says it has stopped using the existing platform and is implementing a new version that complies with the SEBI guidelines, and that the agreements with the third-party sellers have since been executed. It says there is no material impact beyond the penalty.

    Inference

The penalty is small, at ₹2 lakh, and the company states no other financial impact. The filing says the two observations have been addressed, by stopping the old platform and signing the agreements.

The new platform is still being implemented, so the filing does not say when it will be in use. The company’s later reply to an exchange query on a news item about this order is a separate filing.
