K.P.R. Mill (NSE: KPRMILL) reported consolidated total income of ₹1,989 crore and net profit of ₹345 crore for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026, it said in a filing on 28 Oct 2026. Standalone total income was ₹1,367 crore and net profit ₹334 crore for the same quarter.

Profit grew faster than income on both comparisons. Net profit rose 58.2% YoY against 20.1% for total income, and profit before tax rose 76.2%. Revenue from operations rose 18.9% YoY, so the gap in total income is mostly from other income, which rose from ₹23.93 crore to ₹49.13 crore.

Tax rose faster than profit. Tax expense of ₹134.39 crore is 28.0% of profit before tax of ₹479.39 crore, against ₹54.07 crore a year earlier, which was 19.9% of ₹272.10 crore. The higher effective rate is a difference the tables show but the filing does not explain.

The consolidated figures include five subsidiaries that the auditors did not review directly. Their total assets before consolidation adjustments were ₹2,298.47 crore as at 30 Sep 2026, and the review report says other auditors reviewed them. The statutory auditors' conclusion on the consolidated results is not modified in respect of this matter.

Consolidated total income of ₹1,989 crore is ₹622 crore above standalone total income of ₹1,367 crore, and the consolidated statement reports three segments (Textile, Sugar and Others) where the standalone reports one. Sugar segment revenue was ₹436.08 crore in the quarter.

Standalone profit grew much faster than income. Net profit rose 152.5% YoY, against 34.8% for total income and 147.8% for profit before tax.

Revenue from operations rose 25.3% YoY to ₹1,236.56 crore, a slower rate than other income. Finance costs fell to ₹7.51 crore from ₹8.22 crore, and depreciation rose to ₹25.23 crore from ₹23.76 crore. Tax expense of ₹102.89 crore is 23.5% of profit before tax.

Compared with the previous quarter, net profit rose 62.1% against 10.0% for total income. The filing does not say why other income moved from ₹33.68 crore in the previous quarter to ₹130.22 crore in this one.

Inference

The filing reports paid-up equity share capital of ₹34.18 crore, face value ₹1 each, and basic EPS of ₹9.78 standalone and ₹10.09 consolidated for the quarter. The results do not state a dividend, and the filing does not say whether any has been declared or recommended with them.

The auditors' limited review reports on both sets of results are not modified. The filing does not give the reason for the change in consolidated employee benefits expense against the year-earlier quarter, or the reason for the rise in standalone other income.
