Larsen & Toubro has told the exchanges, with a press release dated 19 Oct 2026, that its Public Spaces, Airports & Health vertical has received a Limited Notice to Proceed from the public-private partnership consortium developing the New Tashkent International Airport in Uzbekistan. The notice follows the signing of an engineering, procurement and construction contract awarded to L&T earlier, for the passenger terminal and associated landside infrastructure of the greenfield airport. L&T classes the project as ultra-mega, which in its scale means an order above ₹15,000 crore.

Under the notice, L&T has started initial engineering, detailed design, planning, procurement preparation and other pre-construction work. The Notice to Proceed for the full scope is expected from the consortium after agreed contractual conditions are met, and site construction will begin after that. The terminal and landside facilities are to serve about 17 million passengers a year, and L&T's scope covers site grading, roads, structures, architectural finishes, MEP services, utilities and airport systems.
