Larsen & Toubro Limited has told the exchanges on 7 Oct 2026 that its L&T Energy CarbonLite Solutions vertical has secured a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from DVC CIL Power Private Limited, a joint venture of Damodar Valley Corporation and Coal India, for the main plant package of the 2x800 MW Chandrapura thermal power plant in Jharkhand. The company classifies it as a major order.
The project has two ultra-supercritical units of 800 MW each. L&T’s scope covers design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines, generators and electrostatic precipitators, with the associated mechanical, electrical, control and civil works. DVCCIL will issue the full Notice to Proceed once the project secures the required environmental clearances and the LNTP period is completed.
Inference
An LNTP is a limited go-ahead and not the full notice, so the order depends on the environmental clearances still to come. The press release does not give a rupee value beyond the “major” classification.
