Mahindra & Mahindra (NSE: M&M) reported overall auto sales of 131,109 vehicles for October 2026, up 9% including exports, and said both total vehicle sales and domestic SUV sales of 73,338 units were the highest it has recorded in a month, it said in a filing on 01 Nov 2026. The filing is a monthly business update with volume figures only.
October sales by segment
The filing gives October 2026 volumes for each business. Domestic utility vehicle sales were 73,338 units, up 2%, and total utility vehicle sales including exports were 74,904 units. Domestic commercial vehicle sales were 33,037 units, up 4%, and domestic 3-wheeler sales, including electric 3Ws, were 17,632 units, up 38%. Total vehicle exports were 7,102 units, up 77% from 4,015.
The company says its first CNG vehicle, the XUV 3XO ZNG, has seen strong traction with customers. The filing does not give separate sales figures for that model.
Farm equipment and trucks and buses
Domestic tractor sales were 62,626 units in October 2026, down 13% from 72,071 a year earlier. Total tractor sales including exports were 64,846 units, against 73,660. Exports rose 40% to 2,220 units. The company attributes the domestic decline primarily to a festive calendar shift, with Diwali falling in November in 2026 rather than October in 2025.
Trucks and buses sold 2,838 vehicles in October 2026, up 40%, and 20,643 vehicles in April to October, up 24%. The business says rising commodity and input costs warrant close monitoring, while infrastructure investment and replacement demand support the outlook. The filing gives no figures on how those costs affect margins.
What the monthly sales update means for Mahindra & Mahindra's shareholders
The update reports volumes only. It gives no revenue, profit or margin figures, and it does not say whether the October figures point to a trend for the full year or what the company expects for the months ahead. It is not known how the rising commodity and input costs the company mentions will affect prices or margins.
The filing contains no further dated step.
