Profit grew faster than income in the year-on-year comparison. Net profit rose 33.9% against 14.6% growth in total income, and profit before tax rose 37.7%. Revenue from operations rose 16.5%, while other income fell 41.4% to ₹60.45 crore.
Other income is 1.7% of total income this quarter, and finance costs are ₹0.02 crore, so borrowing plays a very small role in the figures. Tax expense rose 50.2% to ₹72.18 crore, faster than profit before tax, which gives a tax expense of 25.6% of profit before tax this quarter.
The statement shows no exceptional item in the quarter. The filing's notes say the ₹80.16 crore write-down of the Kochi project was reversed in the year ended 31 Mar 2026. The Kochi project, carried at ₹87.01 crore, remains unsold pending Environmental Clearance, and the company says it is approaching the State Expert Appraisal Committee for an EC under the Supreme Court's directions of 29 Jul 2026.

Inference
The auditors' conclusion on both statements is unmodified. Their emphasis of matters covers the Naya Raipur land, the Faridabad land where the conveyance deed is not executed, the NBCC Plaza demand, the Kochi project, and a DVAT demand of ₹404.80 crore that the filing says is not ascertainable as a contingent liability.
The auditors also say the Board does not have the requisite number of Independent Directors and that the Audit and Nomination and Remuneration Committees were not in compliance during the quarter and half year. The Board approved a scheme of merger of wholly owned subsidiary HSCC (India) Limited, and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued the First Motion Order on 09 Oct 2026; the scheme still needs further approvals.
The second interim dividend of ₹0.25 per share has a record date of 11 Nov 2026, and the filing says it will be paid within the period set by the Companies Act, 2013. The filing does not say when the Kochi project may resume sales, what the DVAT outcome may be, or what effect the Australia branch opened on 11 Sep 2026 will have on revenue or profit.
