Profit fell faster than income. Total income dropped 6.1% year on year, but net profit dropped 47.9% and profit before tax dropped 44.0%. The gap is mostly other income: it was ₹46.08 crore a year earlier, which included the ₹34.01 crore gain on disposal of the Peenya plant assets, and it is ₹7.13 crore this quarter. The filing records that gain as completed in the quarter and six months ended 30 Sep 2025, but the text read does not give the reason for the fall in other income.
Revenue from operations fell only 1.6% year on year, from ₹805.03 crore to ₹792.14 crore. Other income is therefore a larger part of the change than operations. Against the previous quarter, revenue from operations rose 18.9% and net profit rose 27.0%, so profit grew a little faster than revenue in the sequential comparison.
Tax took a larger share of pre-tax profit this quarter. Tax expense of ₹14.10 crore is 26.6% of profit before tax of ₹52.99 crore, against ₹20.12 crore on ₹94.70 crore a year earlier. Other income of ₹7.13 crore is 13.5% of profit before tax, against ₹46.08 crore of other income a year earlier.
The consolidated statement of results is not in the page images; only the statutory auditor's limited review report on it is. That report states that the auditor did not review the interim financial information of five subsidiaries and three subsidiaries (one joint venture) included in the consolidated statement. This article does not report consolidated figures.
Inference
The filing says the Board approved the results on 5 Nov 2026 and that the statutory auditor, B S R & Co. LLP, issued an unmodified limited review report on the standalone results. No exceptional items are reported for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026.
The Board recommended a final dividend of 40%, or ₹4.00 per equity share on face value of ₹10, on 21 May 2026, and shareholders approved it at the AGM on 22 Sep 2026. The filing gives no record date or payment date for that dividend in the text read.
The standalone balance sheet shows total assets of ₹2,130.47 crore and total equity of ₹1,356.41 crore at 30 Sep 2026. The filing does not say whether the ₹292.68 crore business transfer to subsidiaries was paid in cash or in shares, and does not give the reason for the fall in other income.
