Consolidated profit fell faster than income. Net profit dropped 21.8% YoY against a 20.3% fall in total income, and profit before tax fell 18.4%. Tax expense rose 7.5% to ₹20.71 crore, so the gap between profit before tax and net profit widened.

Revenue from operations of ₹122.30 crore is almost all of total income: other income of ₹0.65 crore is 0.5% of total income. Finance costs of ₹0.11 crore are 0.1% of total income, so borrowing is not a material line in this quarter's figures.

The consolidated figures include ₹26.68 crore share in profit of associates. The auditors did not review one subsidiary and three associates; for them the conclusion relies on other auditors' reports. The unreviewed subsidiary, Simto Investment Company Limited, shows a loss after tax of ₹28.76 crore for the quarter, according to the auditors' other matters paragraph.

Standalone net profit fell 3.2% YoY, a smaller decline than consolidated net profit (down 21.8%). Standalone total income fell 1.1%, and profit before tax fell 2.2% to ₹134.52 crore.

Tax expense of ₹16.53 crore is 12.3% of standalone profit before tax, up 5.4% from the year-earlier quarter. Dividend income of ₹113.38 crore is the largest line in the standalone revenue from operations.

Note 3 of the standalone results gives realised profit on sale of equity investments of ₹153.95 crore net of tax, credited to retained earnings in addition to profit after tax. The filing lists this separately from net profit.

Consolidated net profit of ₹115.92 crore is ₹2.07 crore lower than standalone net profit of ₹117.99 crore. Against the quarter before, consolidated total income fell 19.2% and standalone total income fell 29.8%.

Other comprehensive income is a loss of ₹2,318.58 crore standalone and ₹2,319.02 crore consolidated for the quarter, which the filing attributes to changes in fair valuation of equity instruments. Total equity post tax was ₹30,790.64 crore, or ₹608.60 per share, at 30 Sep 2026.

    Inference

The company is a middle layer NBFC as classified by the Reserve Bank of India, and it has no activities other than those of an investment company, so it reports no separate segments. Dividends paid in the half year were ₹171.95 crore standalone and ₹171.98 crore consolidated.

The filing does not state the reason for the fall in standalone profit after tax against the year-earlier quarter, the reason for the large swing in other comprehensive income between quarters, or the record date and payout of any dividend for the quarter.
