Net profit fell faster than income. Standalone total income of ₹546.17 crore was 1.5% lower than in the same quarter a year before, while net profit of ₹58.51 crore was 4.9% lower and profit before tax of ₹78.70 crore was 4.8% lower. Revenue from operations fell 2.0%, and the rise in other income to ₹10.00 crore, up 38.3%, did not offset that fall.

Other income is a larger part of the pre-tax result than it was. At ₹10.00 crore it is 12.7% of profit before tax of ₹78.70 crore, against ₹7.23 crore a year before. The tax expense of ₹20.19 crore is 25.7% of profit before tax this quarter.

Finance costs are negligible at ₹0.03 crore, and depreciation rose to ₹17.65 crore from ₹16.63 crore a year before. The company operates as a single segment, manufacture and sale of refractories, so the figures are not split by product.

The company says the Mehsana manufacturing facility, which makes crucibles, stoppers and sleeves, is being sold to Foseco India Limited as a going concern by way of slump sale under a business transfer agreement dated 13 Aug 2026. The facility is classified as held for sale as at 30 Sep 2026 under Ind AS 105. The company says it is not a separate major line of business or geographical area, so its results have not been presented as a discontinued operation.

The company says the gain on disposal and the related tax impact will be recognised on completion, which it expects by 31 Dec 2026. The amount of the consideration is not legible in the filing text, and the gain is not stated.

    Inference

The filing confirms the Board approved the results on 2 Nov 2026, with an unmodified limited review conclusion from the statutory auditors, Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants LLP.

The filing does not say what the Mehsana sale consideration is, what gain or tax effect the sale will produce, or what the reason is for the fall in profit between the two quarters.
