Virtuoso Optoelectronics (NSE: VOEPL) reported total income of ₹157.60 crore and a net profit of ₹1.83 crore on a standalone basis for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026, it said in a filing on 06 Nov 2026. The quarter's net profit compares with a loss of ₹3.31 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.

Net profit turned positive on a year-on-year basis, but the quarter was much smaller than the one before. Total income fell 58.1% from the June quarter, while net profit fell 78.2%, and profit before tax dropped to ₹0.72 crore from ₹12.08 crore. Revenue from operations of ₹156.62 crore is 61.3% above the year-earlier quarter, yet it is 58.3% below the June quarter.
The tax line is unusual. The company says it opted for a reduced tax rate of 22% plus surcharge and cess under Section 200 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, and remeasured deferred tax at 25.168% during the half year. It also says the June quarter tax was computed at the old regime rate of 29.12%, and the resulting impact was recognised in the September quarter.
Finance costs of ₹9.29 crore equal 5.9% of total income, and depreciation rose 76.3% from ₹4.62 crore to ₹8.15 crore against the year-earlier quarter. The filing does not give reasons for the change in finance costs or depreciation.
For the half year ended 30 Sep 2026, revenue from operations was ₹532.09 crore and profit for the period was ₹10.22 crore. The company says it converted ₹10.00 crore of an inter-corporate deposit to its wholly owned subsidiary into 17,452 equity shares of ₹10 each at ₹5,730 per share, allotted on 10 Sep 2026. The filing does not say the basis for the issue price.

The company's business is manufacturing, selling and marketing consumer electronics goods, including air conditioners, water dispensers, deep freezers and lighting, and offering EMS services. The company's auditor SKVM & Co issued an unmodified limited review conclusion on the standalone results.
The board also approved, subject to shareholder approval, the appointment of J Vishnuvardhan as a Non-executive Independent Director for five years from 1 Dec 2026, ending 30 Nov 2031. The filing does not say what role he will play beyond the board or whether he will hold any shares.
The filing does not say what funding the subsidiary will need beyond the conversion of the inter-corporate deposit, or what the June quarter revenue fall reflects.
