Consolidated net profit rose 11.6% YoY, faster than total income, which rose 6.6%. Profit before tax grew 11.4%, and the tax expense rose 10.7% to ₹160.49 crore, which is 24.5% of profit before tax. Other income of ₹54.83 crore is 8.4% of profit before tax, up from ₹35.05 crore a year earlier.
Against the June quarter the picture reverses. Net profit fell 52.8% QoQ while total income rose 13.4%. The filing's notes say that in the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026 the Group sold EPIC shares for ₹723.55 crore and recognised a gain of ₹547.93 crore, so the June quarter's net profit of ₹1,047.88 crore includes that gain. The current quarter has no equivalent item in the notes.
Depreciation rose 53.8% YoY to ₹129.49 crore, while finance costs fell 22.2% to ₹38.41 crore, which is 0.8% of total income. The notes record a Welspun Captive Power Generation acquisition in the quarter for ₹67.66 crore, taking the group's holding from 22.90% to 73.90%. The filing does not say what part of the depreciation rise relates to it.
The limited review report by BSR & Co. LLP carries an unmodified conclusion. It notes 8 subsidiaries and 3 associates that were not reviewed, which the company describes as not material to the Group.
