Income grew faster than profit this quarter. Total income rose 18.5% from the year-earlier quarter, while net profit rose 1.4% and profit before tax fell 1.2%. Revenue from operations, at ₹263.91 crore, carried most of the growth, and other income of ₹3.86 crore was 1.4% of total income.

Finance costs more than doubled, from ₹1.02 crore to ₹2.33 crore, a rise of 129.7%. Finance costs are 0.9% of total income, so the increase is small in absolute terms. The notes in the filing do not explain the change in finance costs.

Tax expense fell to ₹5.25 crore from ₹5.79 crore, which is 22.5% of profit before tax. The filing gives no reason for the lower tax charge against the year-earlier quarter.

Compared with the previous quarter, Q1 FY27, net profit rose 2.3% against a 5.7% rise in total income. Other income of ₹3.86 crore is 16.6% of profit before tax.

Windlas Biotech is a pharmaceutical company with one primarily reportable segment, pharmaceuticals, according to the notes. Its market value was ₹1,901 crore at the 05 Nov 2026 close of ₹921.25 a share. Its latest reported quarter, Q1 FY27, showed total income of ₹253.21 crore, up 17.6% YoY, and net profit of ₹17.65 crore, down 0.1% YoY.

The auditors draw attention to this matter, and their conclusion is not modified by it.

    Inference

The filing records a buyback of 470,000 shares at ₹1,000 each, for ₹47.00 crore, completed through the tender offer route under a board resolution of 17 Apr 2026.
