Net profit fell while income rose. Total income grew 9.9% from the same quarter a year earlier, to ₹181.17 crore, but net profit fell 21.2%, to ₹17.44 crore. Profit before tax fell 19.4%, a slightly smaller decline than net profit, and tax expense fell 14.1%, to ₹6.68 crore.
Other income is small. Other income of ₹0.16 crore is 0.1% of total income and 0.7% of profit before tax of ₹24.13 crore, so the quarter's result rests almost entirely on revenue from operations, which rose 10.0% YoY to ₹181.01 crore.
Finance costs are a small share of revenue. Finance costs of ₹2.81 crore are 1.6% of total income, down 7.8% from ₹3.05 crore a year earlier. Depreciation rose 13.6% to ₹6.66 crore from ₹5.86 crore.
Against the June quarter, the picture is different. Total income rose 34.5% and net profit rose 42.6% from ₹12.23 crore, and the quarter's net profit margin was 9.63%, against 13.43% a year earlier and 9.08% in the June quarter. The statement does not give a reason for the change.
The company is principally engaged in one segment, manufacturing of wire and wire ropes. The statutory auditor, Borkar & Muzumdar, issued a limited review report without modification. The comparative figures for the year-earlier quarter were reviewed by the predecessor auditor, who expressed an unmodified conclusion on 12 Nov 2025. Prior period figures have been regrouped, rearranged or recast to make them comparable.
Total assets were ₹1,028.92 crore at 30 Sep 2026, against ₹989.92 crore at 31 Mar 2026. In the half year, proceeds from issue of shares were ₹23.15 lakh. Half year total income was ₹311.89 crore and profit for the half year was ₹29.67 crore.
Inference
The statement shows no dividend declared. Total assets rose in the half year, and proceeds from share issue in the half year were small. The statement does not say what the company plans to do with its capital, and it gives no reason for the change in profit between the periods shown.
