Billionbrains Garage Ventures (Groww) reports a 54% rise in September-quarter profit to ₹725 crore as revenue grows 47%

Billionbrains Garage Ventures Limited, whose website is groww.in, has told the exchanges that it released its unaudited consolidated results for the quarter and half year ended 30 Sep 2026 on 14 Oct 2026. Profit for the September quarter was ₹724.70 crore, up 54% from ₹471.34 crore a year earlier, and revenue from operations rose 47% to ₹1,501.53 crore from ₹1,018.74 crore.

Revenue from operations was almost the same as the ₹1,501.42 crore of the June 2026 quarter, while profit was 1.4% below the ₹735.04 crore of that quarter. Total income was ₹1,540.54 crore, against ₹1,070.80 crore a year earlier. Profit before tax was ₹983.86 crore, against ₹637.68 crore, and the tax expense was ₹259.16 crore, against ₹166.34 crore.

Total expenses were ₹555.93 crore, against ₹432.60 crore. Employee benefits expense rose to ₹168.89 crore from ₹123.76 crore and other expenses to ₹364.13 crore from ₹291.01 crore, while finance costs fell to ₹4.71 crore from ₹11.03 crore. Basic earnings per share were ₹1.17, against ₹0.79.

For the half year, revenue from operations was ₹3,002.95 crore against ₹1,923.14 crore a year earlier, and profit was ₹1,459.74 crore against ₹849.69 crore.

Inference

Profit grew faster than revenue, because expenses rose by about 29% while revenue rose by about 47%. Profit before tax margin, which is profit before tax as a share of total income, was about 64% in the quarter, against about 60% a year earlier.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, revenue was flat and profit slipped slightly, so the growth in the filing is mainly against the year-earlier quarter. The filing does not break down revenue by source in the statements reviewed here.
