CEAT Limited has told the exchanges that it released its unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and six months ended 30 Sep 2026 on 14 Oct 2026. Consolidated profit for the September quarter was ₹112 crore, down 40% from ₹186 crore a year earlier, while revenue from operations rose 26% to ₹4,762 crore from ₹3,773 crore.

Revenue was 10% above the ₹4,318 crore of the June 2026 quarter, and profit was far above the ₹4 crore of that quarter. Total expenses were ₹4,585 crore, against ₹3,531 crore a year earlier. Cost of materials consumed rose to ₹3,234 crore from ₹2,319 crore, and other expenses to ₹869 crore from ₹779 crore. Finance costs were ₹87 crore, the same as a year earlier.

Profit before exceptional items, tax and share of joint ventures was ₹182 crore, against ₹246 crore. An exceptional item of ₹13 crore in the quarter brought profit before tax to ₹169 crore. The group’s share of loss from joint ventures was ₹5 crore, against a profit of ₹8 crore a year earlier. Basic earnings per share were ₹27.79, against ₹45.98.

For the six months, revenue from operations was ₹9,080 crore against ₹7,302 crore a year earlier, and profit was ₹116 crore against ₹297 crore.

    Inference

Revenue grew by about a quarter, but costs grew faster, mainly the cost of materials, which rose by about 39%. That is why profit before exceptional items was lower than a year earlier.

Profit recovered strongly from the June quarter, when it was only ₹4 crore, but the six-month profit was still well below last year’s. The filing does not explain the exceptional item or the rise in materials cost in the statements reviewed here.
