Income grew faster than profit this quarter. Revenue from operations rose 27.4% YoY, while net profit fell 0.9% YoY, and profit before tax rose only 1.1%. Tax expense rose 8.3% YoY to ₹16.88 crore, which is 23.1% of profit before tax of ₹73.02 crore.

Other income fell to ₹10.89 crore, 14.9% of profit before tax, from ₹16.56 crore a year earlier. Finance costs of ₹1.38 crore are only 0.2% of total income, so borrowing is a small line in this quarter's statement.

Against the previous quarter, net profit rose 23.9%, a little ahead of the 21.0% rise in total income. The net profit margin was 9.14%, against 11.56% in Q2 FY26 and 8.93% in Q1 FY27.

The notes say the company recognised ₹7.81 crore of estimated liabilities for gratuity and leave past service cost after the New Labour Codes took effect on 21 Nov 2025, shown under exceptional items for the year ended 31 Mar 2026. The company continues to monitor the rules and may account for any additional impact.

The auditors, Singhi & Co., issued an unmodified limited review report on the quarter and half year. The company operates mainly in building products and reports no separate segments. Dividends paid in the half year ended 30 Sep 2026 totalled ₹96.71 crore.

    Inference

The filing reports the Board's approval of re-appointments of Vikram Somany as Chairman and Managing Director for five years from 1 Jul 2027, and of Anandh Sundar as Independent Director for a second five-year term from 12 Feb 2027, both subject to member approval through a postal ballot. The cut-off date and e-voting period have not yet been announced.

The filing does not say whether the Labour Code rules will bring further liabilities, and it does not give a reason for the exceptional item's absence from the current quarter's figures.
