Chemplast Sanmar to buy 27% of solar producer Yesaryes Energy for ₹45 lakh to source green power
- Agreement
- Renewable Energy

Chemplast Sanmar Limited has told the exchanges that it is entering into a power purchase agreement with Yesaryes Energy Private Limited, the power producer, and a share purchase agreement with Veebee Yarnntex Private Limited, the seller, and Yesaryes Energy. Under them the company will buy equity shares in Yesaryes Energy, so that it can source green energy under the group captive power plant scheme. The disclosure was made on 10 Oct 2026 under Regulation 30 of the SEBI listing rules.
The company will buy, in one or more tranches, 27% of Yesaryes Energy’s paid-up share capital, at a cost of ₹45 lakh. Yesaryes Energy was incorporated on 20 Jan 2025 and runs a 37.5 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, which began commercial operations in April 2026. The company says the arrangement will let it use solar power for its own consumption and help reduce its energy cost. The acquisition is not a related party transaction, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group nor group companies have an interest in the target.
Inference
Under a group captive scheme, a company that holds a share of a power plant can buy its power on favourable terms, which is why the stake is part of the deal. The amount paid for the stake is small, at ₹45 lakh.
The filing does not state the price of the power or the saving the company expects. It says only that the agreement will help reduce its energy cost.
