Finance costs of ₹4,334.43 crore are 38.1% of total income this quarter, up 23.2% from ₹3,517.75 crore a year earlier and up 8.2% from the prior quarter. Depreciation rose 19.4% YoY to ₹98.60 crore. The filing does not give a reason for the rise in finance costs.

Against the prior quarter, net profit fell 15.0% while total income rose 1.8%.

The company says, in its press release, that CIFCL, in which it holds about 43.48%, disbursed ₹35,872 crore in Q2 FY27 against ₹24,442 crore in Q2 FY26, and that assets under management grew 23% to ₹2,68,009 crore.

The company says CMSGICL, in which it holds about 60%, recorded a post-tax loss of ₹120 crore this quarter against a profit of ₹46 crore a year earlier, and attributes the decline to NATCAT events in H1 FY27 and elevated claim experience in the Motor OD segment. The filing does not say when recovery is expected.

    Inference

The filing reports that the board approved both sets of results on 6 Nov 2026 and that the statutory auditors issued an unmodified limited review conclusion. The auditors' consolidated report notes that one subsidiary's results were jointly audited by other auditors.

The filing does not state a dividend declaration or record date for the period. It also does not give the reason for the rise in consolidated finance costs, or the expected timing of a recovery at CMSGICL.
