Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Limited has told the exchanges on 8 Oct 2026 that the Assistant Commissioner, UP-GST, imposed a penalty of ₹1,55,301 under Section 129(1)(a) of the GST Act, in an order passed under Section 129(3) that the company received on 7 Oct 2026.

The grounds are that some e-way bills had expired at the time of interception, and that the vehicle number on some e-way bills differed from the vehicle intercepted by the mobile squad. The company says there is no material impact on its financials or operations and that it plans to appeal before the Additional Commissioner in due course.

    Inference

The amount is small, and the grounds are about transport documents and not about tax evasion. An appeal is planned, so the order is not final.
