GHCL starts commercial production of bromine in Gujarat with 2,800 tonnes of annual capacity
- Guidance
- Chemicals - Inorganic
GHCL Limited has told the exchanges that commercial production of a new product, bromine, has started at its site in Kathivadar village, Rajula taluka, Amreli district, Gujarat, from 12 Oct 2026. The disclosure was made the same day under Regulation 30 of the SEBI listing rules.
The annual capacity of the bromine plant is 2,800 metric tonnes. The product is liquid bromine (Br2), in the category of chemicals and commodity chemicals, and it will serve both the domestic and the international market. The filing gives 12 Oct 2026 as the date of launch.
Inference
The filing sets out the start of production and the plant’s capacity, but not its cost, the expected sales or the price. It does not say how much of the capacity will be used in the first year.
Bromine is a commodity chemical, so its revenue to the company will depend on market prices and volumes, which the filing does not discuss.
