Net profit grew faster than income. Consolidated net profit was ₹13.18 crore against ₹10.49 crore a year earlier, up 25.6%, while total income rose 7.1% to ₹382.09 crore from ₹356.84 crore. Tax was ₹0.01 crore against ₹0.02 crore, so net profit sits close to profit before tax of ₹13.19 crore.
Other income was ₹0.12 crore against ₹0.29 crore a year earlier, and revenue from operations was ₹381.97 crore. Finance costs were ₹139.64 crore against ₹166.67 crore.
The notes put technical write-offs of loan receivables at ₹137.79 crore for the quarter and ₹199.75 crore for the half year. In the quarter the company reversed a management overlay of ₹49.0 crore, recognised at 31 Mar 2026 for potential credit risk from the West Asia crisis; the company says it concluded a separate overlay was no longer required.

Standalone net profit was ₹13.14 crore against ₹10.47 crore, up 25.5%, on total income of ₹382.04 crore, up from ₹356.78 crore. Tax expense is nil in both quarters, so profit before tax equals net profit. Consolidated net profit is ₹0.04 crore higher, and the consolidated results include the subsidiary IndoStar Asset Advisory Private Limited.
Finance costs were ₹139.64 crore, 36.6% of standalone total income, against ₹166.67 crore a year earlier. Other income was ₹0.12 crore against ₹0.29 crore.
Basic EPS was ₹0.81 against ₹0.77, up 5.2%, while net profit rose 25.5%. The company allotted 85,100 equity shares in the quarter and 1,32,841 in the half year on exercise of employee stock options.
At 30 Sep 2026 standalone net worth was ₹3,799.9 crore, the debt-equity ratio 1.55 times, capital to risk-weighted assets 35.98% and the gross Stage 3 ratio 4.46%. Standalone net profit for the half year was ₹24.58 crore.
Inference
The board approved the results on 29 Oct 2026, and the statutory auditors, S.R. Batliboi & Co. LLP, issued an unmodified limited review opinion on both sets. The company raised ₹400 crore of non-convertible debentures on 23 Jul 2026 in a private placement; the filing says the proceeds were used for onward lending, with no deviation. The filing says the secured debentures carry a first pari-passu charge on standard receivables or cash equivalents.
Shikha Jain ceased as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at close of business on 29 Oct 2026, citing personal reasons, and Reshma Ramchandani takes the role from 30 Oct 2026.
Not known from the filing: why write-offs are recorded at this level, why tax is nil, whether a dividend will be declared, and whether further provisions will follow from the West Asia overlay.
