Karur Vysya Bank has announced results for the quarter ended 30 Sep 2026. Net profit was ₹788 crore, up 37.28% from ₹574 crore a year earlier, which the bank's Managing Director and CEO, Ramesh Babu B, called its highest ever. Pre-provision operating profit rose 14.26% to ₹1,162 crore and net interest income rose 18.72% to ₹1,497 crore.

For the half year, net profit was ₹1,543 crore, up 40.91% from ₹1,095 crore, and net interest income was ₹2,920 crore, up 24.73%. The net interest margin was 4.34%, up 28 basis points, and the cost-to-income ratio was 40.53% against 44.76% a year earlier.

Total business reached ₹2,39,712 crore, up 17.96% year on year. Advances were ₹1,11,589 crore, up 20.35%, and deposits were ₹1,28,123 crore, up 15.96%. The CASA ratio was 27.52%. Gross NPA was 0.69% and net NPA 0.18%, and the capital adequacy ratio was 18.61%, with a Common Equity Tier 1 ratio of 17.98%. Return on assets was 2.10% and return on equity 20.47% for the quarter.

    Inference

The figures show profit growing faster than operating profit, which suggests lower provisions or other items helped the bottom line. Advances grew faster than deposits, which is something lenders watch because it uses up funding and liquidity.

Asset quality ratios are low, but they reflect the bank's own reporting at one date. Shareholders may want to watch the net interest margin, which the bank itself notes has risen, and the growth in advances in later quarters.
