Net profit grew faster than total income. Consolidated net profit rose 116.6% to ₹88.89 crore while total income rose 81.4%, and profit before tax rose 155.0% to ₹116.54 crore. Tax expense rose 494.4% to ₹27.65 crore, so the tax charge absorbed a larger share of profit before tax than in the year-ago quarter.
Other income is small against the operating line. Other income of ₹8.69 crore is 1.2% of consolidated total income and 7.5% of profit before tax. Finance costs of ₹5.19 crore are 0.7% of total income, up 24.2% YoY against revenue growth of 81.4%.
Depreciation fell 10.7% YoY to ₹10.07 crore, while it rose 20.6% from the previous quarter. The notes do not explain the year-ago exceptional item of ₹25.83 crore in the half year ended 30 Sep 2025, which is shown in the statement.

Standalone profit moved further than the consolidated figure. Standalone net profit rose 441.6% to ₹77.87 crore on total income up 83.5%, and profit before tax rose 449.5% to ₹103.65 crore. The year-ago base was low: the year-ago quarter had profit before tax of ₹18.86 crore and tax of ₹4.49 crore.
The standalone statement shows a disposal group held for sale, with assets of ₹361.82 crore and liabilities of ₹131.97 crore as at 30 Sep 2026. The notes read do not say when the disposal is expected to complete.
Consolidated net profit of ₹88.89 crore is ₹11.02 crore higher than standalone net profit of ₹77.87 crore, a gap that the filing's figures show but do not break down.
The notes record a final dividend of ₹0.20 per equity share of face value ₹2.00, approved at the annual general meeting on 26 Sep 2026 and paid on 13 Oct 2026. The company says the Himachal Pradesh High Court, Shimla, quashed a show cause notice seeking recovery of ₹117.94 crore, and that a contingent liability of ₹317.37 crore as at 31 Mar 2026 no longer exists.
The auditors' limited review carried no modification. They did not review the interim results of five subsidiaries, which reflect total revenues of ₹265.11 crore before consolidation adjustments for the quarter.
Inference
The filing reports a final dividend paid in October 2026 and a favourable court order that removes a contingent liability of ₹317.37 crore. The filing does not say how the court order affects future provisions or cash flows.
The notes do not give a reason for the large rise in income and profit against the year-ago quarter, nor the nature of the year-ago exceptional item or the 2025 sale of subsidiary shares.
