Paradeep Phosphates Q2 FY27 Results: Consolidated Net Profit ₹121 Crore on Total Income of ₹7,381 Crore

Income grew while profit fell. Consolidated total income rose 6.8% YoY to ₹7,380.90 crore and revenue from operations rose 7.2% to ₹7,364.06 crore, yet net profit fell 64.6% to ₹121.01 crore and profit before tax fell 65.0% to ₹164.17 crore. Other income fell 57.4% to ₹17.75 crore; it is 0.2% of total income and 10.8% of profit before tax.

Finance costs of ₹158.02 crore equal 2.1% of revenue from operations and rose 12.7% YoY, while depreciation of ₹109.01 crore rose 21.7%. Tax of ₹43.16 crore is 26.3% of profit before tax, against ₹126.59 crore a year earlier.

The notes record a write-down of ₹59.98 crore of inventories in the quarter, after a net realisable value assessment. That amount equals 36.5% of consolidated profit before tax. The company says inventories are now carried at the lower of cost and net realisable value.

Standalone total income of ₹7,381.81 crore is up 6.8% YoY, with revenue from operations up 4.2% to ₹7,164.06 crore. Net profit fell 64.6% to ₹121.01 crore, the same as on a consolidated basis, and basic EPS was ₹1.17 against ₹3.29.

The standalone table shows a loss before tax of ₹468.52 crore for the year-earlier quarter, so the change in profit before tax cannot be given as a percentage. The consolidated table shows a profit before tax of ₹468.53 crore for the same quarter.

The company says the Rabi subsidy notification has not been issued, so it recognised subsidy income under the existing Kharif notification. For the half year, standalone profit before tax was ₹690.39 crore against ₹892.90 crore a year earlier, down 22.7%, per the standalone cash flow statement.

Inference

The board approved the results on 29 Oct 2026, and the statutory auditor BSR & Co. LLP issued an unmodified report on them.

The Labour Codes were notified on 21 Nov 2025. The company recognised the gratuity and leave liability impact as an exceptional item in the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026, and no further adjustment was required in this quarter.

The filing does not say whether the Rabi subsidy notification will be issued or what effect it would have on income, and it does not give the reason for the fall in profit.
