Polyplex Corporation Limited has told the exchanges on 7 Oct 2026 that the board of Polyplex (Thailand) Public Company Limited, a material subsidiary, approved a project to add capacity by installing a second-hand 6.6-metre, five-layer BOPP/BOPE film line in Thailand. Existing capacity is 98,045 tonnes a year with 80% utilisation, and the addition is 12,000 tonnes a year.
The investment is USD 15.2 million (about ₹147 crore), financed from internal accruals, with the capacity due in Q4 FY 2027-28. The line is being bought for about USD 2.91 million from Taghleef Industries Inc., USA, which is owned by Al Ghurair Petrochemicals LLC, UAE, an indirect major shareholder of the Thai subsidiary. The line has been in operation for about two years.
Inference
The line is bought from an indirect shareholder of the subsidiary, so the purchase is with a related party. The filing says the purchase is under local regulations, and the equipment price is about a fifth of the total project cost.
